Binance Completes 37th BNB Chain Burn: Here's How Many Tokens Were Burned

The thirty-seventh quarterly BNB token burn is done. It was achieved directly on BNB Smart Chain (BSC), and it eliminated a massive quantity of BNB from circulation for good. According to the official data, 1,646,196 BNB have been burned.

At current prices, that quantity is worth about $1.197 billion. The tokens have been sent to a burn address, so no one can use them again.

What the Burn Means

A burn gets rid of tokens from the total supply. When the supply goes down, every remaining token becomes a larger proportion of the whole. This is the primary reason BNB holders pay attention to each quarterly burn.

After this burn, the rest of the supply stands at 131,512,500 BNB. That is the quantity still left in existence. The supply has been falling since the first burn, and the process is planned to continue until half of the original supply is gone.

How This Burn Compares

The thirty-seventh burn is close to the scale of recent ones. The thirty-sixth burn eliminated 1,615,827 BNB, and the thirty-fifth eliminated 1,569,307 BNB. The thirty-fourth burn was 1,371,803 BNB, and the thirty-third was 1,441,281 BNB. So this burn is a bit larger than the last few, which suggests a gradual upward trend after a dip.

Some earlier burns were much larger. The 14th burn eliminated 3,619,888 BNB, and the 11th eliminated 3,373,988 BNB. The first burn was 986,000 BNB. Burn sizes have changed a lot over the years, but the quarterly schedule has stayed the same.

How the Burn Amount Is Set

The burn quantity depends on two things: the BNB price and the number of blocks produced on BNB Chain during the quarter. When the price is higher or the network is busier, the burn changes. Because of this, no two burns are exactly the same.

The auto-burn system makes the process fair and transparent. Anyone can check the numbers on chain, and the quantity follows a clear formula rather than a decision made behind closed doors.

Why It Matters for Investors

Many investors see the burn schedule as a long-term plan to reduce supply. Fewer tokens in circulation can support the price over time, if demand remains the same or grows. But a burn does not guarantee a price rise. The market can move up or down for many other reasons.

Still, a burn worth more than $1 billion is a strong signal. It shows that the project keeps its promise to reduce supply on a regular basis. The next burn will take place next quarter, and the community will watch to see if the quantity grows again.
