As Shiba Inu continues to recover from the losses suffered from the extreme market volatility seen in past months, the leading meme token is increasingly attracting new holders to its ecosystem.
Despite the uncertainty caused by its previous price actions, it appears that recent market recoveries have sparked enthusiasm for SHIB among new users.
Shiba Inu Adoption Soars
Latest onchain data provided by Etherscan shows that Shiba Inu has added a total of 1,235 new holders in the last 24 hours despite the brief slowdown in its price movement over the period.
Notably, this comes after the popular meme coin has recorded steady growth in its holder count throughout September, signalling increasing interest in the meme token.
Furthermore, the data shows that the total number of SHIB holders reached 1,693,365 as of September 27 after seeing rapid adoption the previous day.
Shiba Inu Adds Nearly 9,000 Holders in September
As such, the meme token saw an increase of 1,235 holders in just 24 hours, despite the ongoing price weakness, further positioning September as a strong month for the asset.
Following the surge in its holder count, Shiba Inu has welcomed 8,927 additional holders so far in September, suggesting that new wallets have increasingly accumulated SHIB during the month.
While this has brought its total closer to the much-anticipated 1.7 million milestone, SHIB needs just 6,635 additional holders to reach this mark.
With how quickly new users are joining the SHIB ecosystem this month, the asset may be able to achieve this milestone before the end of September.
